refugee day

On Thursday we had a refugee day. It was really fun and we did it to understand how the south Sudanese live. We also had half a cup of rice to understand what their diet is like for a day.  We also had to move in with another group but that's another story.

This bit will tell you what we did. Me and Noah  were building a house that looked like this it was pretty horrible just a mat and two boxes. But we eventually moved in with Ben, Cyrus, Dylan and Liam. We had rice for lunch and it was really nice to eat STEAMING HOT rice. We had lots of fun using our movement service,   which was a subway box with string tied to it.

It was really fun doing this I hope the people in south Sudan are getting more money. I hope we can do this again

The visit from Janet and Phil was awesome! We learnt about the money, the tribes, the food, and the features of life. The south Sudanese have no power, are really hot and their 100 dollar is worth 30 cents in NZ. Their hair grows REALLY curly and their hair and eyes are all the same colour. Their hobbies  are ones like hunting, cooking  and looking after cattle. The children are scarred to show what tribe they are in. It was really fun and watching videos of them dancing. term reflection

This is a reflection of the term We had a great term and now I’m going to tell you all about it. Here is a list of the things we did… I used spheros with Storm and Eilish here is a photo of our sphero we named it shockbot and we used a block program called you guessed it shockbot. Another thing we did was korfball we had a great time playing it it is kind of like netball but with a hoop that is like this we also had a refugee day were  Noah and I had to move in with another group. It was really cool we had rice for lunch. Now i’m going to tell you about .We do this thing called mindfulness where we lie on the floor and listen to a recording that helps us be more calm. The last thing I will tell you about is … global play sessions! We have these sessions were we have tech free play time. I really love it. I hope you enjoyed my recap of the term. science in a van visit

Hi everyone! The visit from science in a van was awesome!! It was amazing learning about forces and motion. They did heaps of cool experiments and awesome science talks. They taught us about the laws of motion. One of the things they did experiments on was a rubber chicken named Steve. Steve was so lucky he got shot up to the roof (ouch!) by an L&P bottle rocket!🚀 They also did an experiment were you try to get 3 eggs into glasses when knocking on a place mat. The visit from Emily and Allan was amazing.
