This is a reflection of the term We had a great term and now I’m going to tell you all about it. Here is a list of the things we did… I used spheros with Storm and Eilish here is a photo of our sphero we named it shockbot and we used a block program called you guessed it shockbot. Another thing we did was korfball we had a great time playing it it is kind of like netball but with a hoop that is like this we also had a refugee day were  Noah and I had to move in with another group. It was really cool we had rice for lunch. Now i’m going to tell you about .We do this thing called mindfulness where we lie on the floor and listen to a recording that helps us be more calm. The last thing I will tell you about is … global play sessions! We have these sessions were we have tech free play time. I really love it. I hope you enjoyed my recap of the term. I can’t wait for the next one!

refugee day

On Thursday we had a refugee day. It was really fun and we did it to understand how the south Sudanese live. We also had half a cup of rice to understand what their diet is like for a day.  We also had to move in with another group but that's another story. This bit will tell you what we did. Me and Noah  were building a house that looked like this it was pretty horrible just a mat and two boxes. But we eventually moved in with Ben, Cyrus, Dylan and Liam. We had rice for lunch and it was really nice to eat STEAMING HOT rice. We had lots of fun using our movement service,   which was a subway box with string tied to it. It was really fun doing this I hope the people in south Sudan are getting more money. I hope we can do this again

korfball

Image
We had lots of fun with korfball on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. In case you are wondering korfball is sort of a mix of netball and basketball. The rules are don't knock the ball out of another players hands, no physical contact and a boy can't mark a girl and a girl can't mark a boy. The only thing is you can't run with the ball. It's pretty simple play. Just get the ball and pass to someone. The good thing is in a game there is about five metres of space BEHIND the korf (hoop) so if the ball goes behind you can just run and pick it up! Our teacher for korfball was a guy named Youri. We had lots of fun competing and I really hope we can do it again! me wanting the ball

Dons visit

Image
Today we had an amazing visit from a man named Don. He works as an eel scientist and sees lots of different types of eels. We learnt some amazing facts like,  Eels can swim forwards and in reverse, There are three types of eels in NZ, Don has caught an eel about two meters long, Eels have a great sense of smell, Long fins eat anything, Eels bite dig deep and spin to tear of skin, Eels eat ducklings, eels don't eat every day, Eels evolve from other fish. Those are only some of the facts that we learnt from his visit! I really enjoyed this extension to the eels learning! It was amazing learning about Dons amazing eels he has encountered. 😎😎 Don shows us his plastic Eel to demonstrate how long and wide one of the eels he found is.
